Welcome to BassDrill
BassDrill is a company formed to design, fabricate, operate and manage safe & efficient offshore drilling equipment.
While providing equipment that is specifically intended for the purpose it is used and meets the customers’ needs is our priority, it is only half the story. We firmly believe that even quality hardware requires the right employee and management expertise and vision to back it up and get the job done effectively and reliably. Our highly competent and motivated employees have ready access to cutting edge management systems. They are supported by a management leadership team which has set out core values for all its operations: safety, dependability, accountability, honesty, ethics, integrity, dignity, respect and personnel development.
BassDrill designed and contracted the fabrication of its initial vessel, the BassDrill “Alpha”, which commenced in mid 2008. Following its delivery in early 2010 the Alpha was deployed under a term contract in West Africa in the latter half of that year. Construction of a second, larger vessel, the BassDrill “Beta” commenced in early 2011 with a planned completion in early 2013. This unit will be deployed offshore in Brazil under a term contract. In combination, these two units cover medium depth drilling in shallow water environments (the Alpha) as well as deepwater environments (the Beta).
Both vessels are ABS classed and were designed by Bassoe Technology AS (BassTech) based in Gothenburg, Sweden. In addition to being well versed in both ABS and DNV requirements, BassTech engineers are leaders in risk-based analysis of new vessel designs. This engineering expertise, combined with our own in-house experience of designing and operating modular platform rigs internationally, enables us to offer premium equipment to meet our customers’ drilling requirements both safely and cost-effectively.
Additionally, BassDrill is involved with the design and construction management of customer-owned offshore units and anticipates operating such units in the future.
